Depth: 0m – 55m
10 miles off shore from Plymouth stands the Eddystone light house.Built to alert shipping to the notorious reef system which rises from some 55m deep and breaks the surface. The reef covers over a square mile and we have over the years explored many of the dramatic pinnacles and gullies .These adventures have given us a unique knowledge of the excellent scenic dives to be had. Being so far out into the English Channel the Eddystone Reef is often blessed with great visibility (20m) and an abundance of aquatic life. The history of the Eddystone lighthouse is fascinating. Once on site the hazard it posed to Mariners is immediately apparent ,and the amount of shipping that came to grief in this area before the building of the lighthouse is anybodies guess!
