Sunderland Aircraft found! PDF Print E-mail

Discovery Divers (Plymouth Ltd.) have recently discovered the remains of a Sunderland Aircraft which crashed during the Second World War.

When a visiting diver surfaced with a piece of equipment of military origin we decided the site warranted a closer inspection. Subsequent survey dives have revealed four large rotary engines and three propellors along with some associated airframe. Additionally a British  (practice) Anti shipping mine was located within the search area!!

Investigation to identify the aircraft continues, if you feel you can help in the identification process please contact us.
