What is it?
The PADI Open Water Diver Course is the most popular diving course in the world and is the first step in the PADI education programme which consists of over 35 different diver education courses. Once you complete the course, you will be a qualified diver and recieve a credit card sized ID. This qualification is globally recognised and allows you to rent diving equipment, purchase air fills, and go diving with anyone of similar qualification or above throughout the world.
Who can do it?
Anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit and comfortable in the water can learn to Scuba dive. The minimum age limit for this course is 16 years old.
What does the course involve?
Some self study, 5 academic sessions including instructor led knowledge reviews. Pool sessions (as required), to master the skills necessary to be a safe and competent diver. Four open water dives, spent exploring and discovering first hand the wonders of the undersea world and further demonstrating mastery of the skills learnt in the classroom and pool.
How long will it take?
The standard course runs over approximately 3 days, which can include weekends and evenings, dates and times to be arranged to suit the individual.
If you only wish to complete the classroom and pool sessions then a referral course can also be arranged which would allow you to complete your Open Water training abroad.
